, And Hindu

(This is a communal post)

Destiny of India is inseparable from destiny of Hinduism. The very notion of India is grown from Hinduism. When Hinduism is on ascendant India rises, when it declines India rots. The bond between Dharma and this land can only be severed if one wishes to extinguish both of them.
And this is what our intellect are hell bent on doing. Because they are so disconnected that they will distort and mutilate history to agree with their narrative. Only history is too potent a force, when it unleashes itself this land and its people will be carried away in its torrent.

One question. Define what you mean by the ascension of Hinduism. Or, in general, define what constitutes the rise or the fall of any religion. I hope your answer will be more nuanced than population figures.

Well to define the ascension, one has to understand the phenomenon completely, since I don't understand the phenomenon, I cant define the ascension, but yes I will know it when I see it.

If you do not understand the phenomenon, how can you claim "When Hinduism is on ascendant India rises, when it declines India rots" ?

The above statement implies that you have identified and contrasted atleast one period of rise and one period of rot. Correlate this to any noticable changes in Hinduism during/just preceding those periods, and an answer should spring forth.

Ritwik,

I said I don't understand it "completely", which is different than saying I don't understand it.
A better verb would be "grok".

Think deeply.

I don't understand "grok", and I don't want to think deeply right now. But I have a feeling that you are going to indulge in a circular definition. Like,

"When India is on the decline, that is what constitutes the fall of Hinduism. Hence, when Hinduism falls, India declines."

Even if you don't understand it completely, can you tell me atleast one characteristic underlying the rise, and one characteristic underlying the fall of any religion?

May be I can define or may be I can not define, but I won't.

You can feel what you like. It is your right.

I don't play interrogations....

Isn't questioning and counter-questioning the bedrock of all human philosophical thought, esp true for ancient Indian and Hindu culture?

But nevermind, some other time.

Ofcourse it is, but the i cant answer the question you are asking in one comment, because for one I am still looking for some answer which can totally satisfy, and i don't know whether it is going to be simple.

So you want an answer or you want a soundbyte?

If you want later then my response would be (perhaps) it is inquisitiveness and courage to explore which is essence of Hinduism. I doubt this is going to satisfy you though :-|

Hmm, ok. Delayed, thought out answers are significantly better than quick soundbytes. So we will wait for as long as it takes, and try to do some figuring out ourselves.
