Comparable Trades

When one comes to think of it, Prostitution and Socialism are eerily similar.

The core activity in prostitution is pimping bodies as a device to satiate carnal desires. Whereas socialism is wholesale business of manufacturing outrage by pimping pathos to stoke flaccid egos.

Both depend on the persistent advertisement, by pimps in former and bleeding hearts in later.

Of course there is a key difference, in prostitution guilt follows release whereas in socialism, guilt leads, in fact, is the cause of release.

It is therefore with more than a sense of delicious irony that one realizes how both the trades converge in that venerable publication called Tehelka.
