I hate to ding Rohit but no people from Bihar, UP or any other state migrating to Maharashtra is not globalization . Last time I checked they are still in India.

Also while legal aid is right of every accused, it is the responsibility of Indian government and not any education institution. Any such action by Jamia Milia university is violation of not only its charter, but also the spirit under which it has been provided by the autonomy. So while what BJP is doing may or may not be responsible, it is not precisely same as what Jamia Milia Islamia is doing.

Alternatively titled What happens when I have nothing to write, or how to finish liberalism, libertarianism and all non sensne  for once and all.

To explain the background, FitW's  comment is the starting point for this post. In short FiTW blames atheism for the present affliction of liberalism or libertarianism. I disagree. To use a cliche (from my wardrobe of  soiled cliches), it is a case of mistaking correlation for causation, the proper cause for abomination of atheism as well as induhvidualism is insufficient spanking. To understand the profundity of the simple statement, we must understand  evolution of human society.


Human society (or any other society) exists because it improves the fitness of aggregate for survival. However even as society is formed, struggle for survival as witnessed in the nature continues even within parameter of society. As a result individual self interest is pitted against stability and therefore interest of group. Resolution of this conflict is a phenomenon called social hierarchy. Before we continue, here follows a mild digression..

Digression starts.
Now the criteria on which social hierarchy is formed differs from one animal society to other animal society. At one end of spectrum are societies where this conflict is resolved on basis of  attributes whose positive effect are limited to the individual while having no effect (or even negative effect) on fitness group at large, when hierarchy is decided sheerly on brute strength is one such situation. On the other hand there also exists societies where attributes with positive influence on fitness of group decide the hierarchy. Examples of attributes are experience, and one such society is that of elephants. Here it must be noted that most of the animal societies exist somewhere between the two ends. Other point is that it is also possible for strength and related attributes to be positive attributes on group fitness. The examples that come to mind is when strength is used to enforce order or when co-ordinating hunting (this I believe is closely related to strength).

Anyhow, what is more interesting is the fact,  particularly true for humans, that individual animal by genetic makeup is not attuned to voluntarily accept inferior position in social hierarchy. At birth most of us are selfish tyrants. The toddler who we find cute and cuddly if left to devices of genetics only will grow out to become an egomaniac, hellbent on world domination. This scenarios is clearly not a desirable one. What we want instead is an individual who has made his peace with the larger group and is pliable enough to function within the parameter of the society which means the animal spirit within him must be broken and yoked to harness its benefit not just for himself but also for society. Fortunately society is able to accomplish this. The instruments for this purpose are pain, humiliation and more importantly fear and threat to unleash them on individual by the society. One important thing to remember is that while broken, the animal spirit is never vanquished and reside in the inner recesses of mind, shackled and mutilated, but still alive. The individual must be guarded over by society lest this animal, our inner id, breaks its chains and takes control of individual wreaking destruction on the order and stability of society. This implies a lifelong prescription of pain and humiliation.

Now that problem with atheists, liberals, libertarians etc is that a) They were not properly punished  in their childhood and b) They managed to become tolerantly proficient in the language of our erstwhile masters giving them an elevated stature over natives. This situation is exacerbated by their ability to familiarize with the abomination called rock music, and English literature. The results are predictably tragic. Absence of societal control bloats their ego, unleashing their inner narcissus, restricting their world view to obsession with self. Consumed by this egomania, birth of navel gazing clique "induhvidualist" takes place, which suffers from permanent adolescence. This clique revolts against social hierarchy in order to achieve alpha status thus threatening social stability. It is from this reckless instinct of clique that all the other abominations take place.

The remedy for the induhvidualism is clear, a steady regimen of spanking will inculcate respect and obedience for the society through repeated subjection to humiliation and pain. As I have said earlier , this must be taken at utmost priority, survival of civilization depends on our success in controlling aspirants for alpha status.

Warm body democracy

Chetan, I have always maintained on my blog that I support libertarianism from a first-principles/moral perspective. It is rather clever of you to admit defeat in that regard, dispose of it summarily, and then try to bury us (at least me) in an avalanche of utilitarian arguments.

I am not qualified or knowledgeable enough to enter that argument. More importantly, I am not interested in that argument.

* To explain I find this talk of first principles sophomoric and tedious. Sure it is necessary to have a starting point, but that is just the assumption (or set of assumptions) you make, please, oh please don't confuse the assumptions with a a universal physical or even moral law.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant

I was going to write on conversion controversy  but DataNazi beat me to it . I agree with him. Conversions, if through coercion, can be dealt with existing laws, there is no reason to enact a new law for this. As far as inducement is concerned, while dishonest and despicable to the core, it should not be illegal.

Problem is, we Hindus lack intellectual leadership to grasp much less tackle any long term challenges. First, let's call conversion for what it is, a depravity not only against Hindus but also against the converted. It therefore is important that this threat be countered. Since legal aid is out of question, what can be done. Since I intend this to be brief, following can be done for starters.

1. Close the tap. Indians have a right to practice their religion in India, this right doesn't  extend to the foreigners trying to save us heathen Hindoos from horrible sin of idolatry. DataNazi asks for public audit. I say fuck it. Go for full ban. Double quick.

2. Do the fieldwork. Missionaries may have money, but we have the numbers. We should (and that includes me) should contribute in whatever way we can.

3. Own the narrative. They say that they have a right nay duty to save our heathen posteriors. Well then we too have a right to show these missionaries and evangelicals for what they are. They are nothing more than a bunch of bigoted freaks who worship a petty tyrant of a god, and who intend to destroy our civilization, who wage a war of cultural annihilation, who are eager instruments of cultural imperialism against this land of eternal faith. They are wolves under the skin of lamb. They speak of Lord but work for serpent. They speak in the forked tongue. Make Hindus aware of the indoctrination that goes in these convents schools.

3. Begin long march for institutions, do it now. This is a minor tweak on Gramsci . We already own the cultural institutions. However we must also become competitive in media and education. I hope the reason is obvious, we have to ensure our channel of communication, ability to stake a position in public discourse without depending on the journalists, priest of secular altar, and ability to foster a school of thought based on cultural nationalism. Since the existing sec-lib establishment will not allow cultural nationalists to gain a foothold we must strive to work under the radar and use advance technology (FM, cable etc see this post by Yossarian, our Hindutva fascist mole in INI) as well as the grass root to create such institutions, in other words by pass the gatekeepers of social narrative.

As I said earlier in a related context, Kalki is not coming , we must become our own Kalkis. We must strive for the light ourselves, we must find the truth by ourselves., we must achieve immortality on our own.

Public Enemies

Usually I have a high tolerance limit for the lies and distortions put forward by dhimmi media, mostly because I rarely read or view it, but the way it has gone out of way to obfuscate the menace of terrorism is a low even I didn't imagine it could stoop to.

Instead of having discussion on political and policy response to terrorism, it is publishing nonsensical platitudes on peace by Tibetan monks*. As if all that terrorists are waiting for chants of Om Shantih Om before laying down the arms and becoming Sufis.

This, however, is nothing compared to what it is doing regarding Muslims, instead of investigating indoctrination and radicalization of the Muslims, it is busy grievance mongering, fanning the narrative of Muslim victim hood and persecution by vast Hindutva fascists cabal. I hope everyone realizes that terrorism more than law and order problem has to do with narrative and perception. So not only our dhimmi media is perverting the discourse, they are also providing terror merchants with raw material for propaganda.

How long before IM starts simply pointing to our dhimmi media (henceforth referred to as ODM) for their justification. Let's be clear about this, media is not just acting against Sangh Parivar like they do always, or even Hindus like they do almost always. They are actively working against integrity of India and livers of her citizens. And make no mistake, they are not doing it for Muslims. They are doing it for victims, because if there is one thing more than anything which our secular liberal establishment needs for survival, it is a victim.

ODM must be stopped. It is not a watchdog, never have been, it is a Napoleon's dog.

* No offense to Tibetan monks, but we don't need any lesson in self preservation from them.

PS. I am not much of a conspiracy nut but how long before governments in Orissa and Karnataka are dismissed. Also how long before some or all branches of Sangh Parivar are banned.

Financial meltdown

Respected Ma'am asked me about it. Well, I have no idea how it happened, in fact the question is little surprising , as I have never shown any interest in markets. At most I can link to GB and Rohit* who have written on it.
If I understand what both wrote correctly, the crash could have been a result of greed and stupidity on a massive scale, (as Alan Greenspan put it irrational exuberance ), or a result of  well intentioned but unsound policy decisions by US Congress. I will be on the safe side and split the difference. Pox on both the houses !

Of course I still wait for Ritwik to come forward and educate the people, like only he can do, as  Ravikiran is busy with an impending important delivery.

* There is something wrong when people have to go to RTDM and street car for serious stuff. It is not that GB and Rohit are not intelligent, it is just that they are known for humor and (unintended) goat humor.

Update : Just a minor revision. I think original sin has been committed by US govt. in that by setting up implicit guarantee behind Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae it distorted the market by encouraging the lenders to make bad loans. This was compounded by irrational exuberance of  The Wall Street, and, well we have a disaster at hand don't we.

Post on misc.

In case some of you were wondering, I am still very much alive. The hiatus is due to a combination of falling sick, deadline and vacations. Anyhow few points in no particular order.

1. This is disappointing. Ritwik returns after a long long time, to blog about eminent douche bag ! I mean what is wrong with him. For one I was expecting that he will comment on the ongoing financial meltdown. Instead this is what he writes about. Sad, even considering that he is in all probability jobless, but since we all are going to be jobless anyway, the least he can do is to enlighten the ignorant.

2. On this post , I agree and disagree. Agree in that while lawyers do have a right to refuse to take up a case, it should be done by the individual lawyers considering the merit of case and not adopted by bar association as a general rule for any particular category of cases. Every accused deserve a fair chance of representation for the judiciary to function and for preventing state from harassing citizens.

However I strongly disagree with Rohit when he says that Indian judiciary is fair. It is not within any sensible definition. Now it is true judge are by and large impartial, but long procedural delays and loopholes for all practical purposes deny any fairness to citizen. I believe that how the citizens view any organ of state is a good measure of its success. Well, I don't think that anyone will really object if I say that Indian judiciary doesn't inspire any confidence as a deliverer of justice. People will do anything to avoid going to court. It is easy to feel complacent about existence of institutions, however Indian judiciary has failed in fairness by the most important measure namely delivery.
