In Praise Of "Mohalle Ki Bua"

 

Society survives because of norms. Withering away of norms is immediately followed by collapse of society. When society collapses, weak is oppressed by strong. Therefore it is in interest of women, who are weak, to uphold social norms, even zealously. 

Mohalle Ki Bua is the patroller of norms. 

Why Free Speech Absolutism Can't Work

Argument behind free speech absolutism is "marketplace of ideas" which hinges on premise "good ideas will drive away bad ideas" which hinges on premise market is an institution driven by reason.

Reality is opposite, market is driven by sentiments which is why bad ideas drive out good ideas.
