While I am unabashedly pro- BJP (or used to be before soap opera started), I was horrified by this (via Indian Express).

RSS recipe for strong nation: A Hindu should produce at least 3 kids, even 17, to save demography

Hindus suffer from many problem, demography isn't one of them.
Hindus are 85% of Indian population and still get a lots of grief from Secularists.
They will still get grief even if they are 90% or 95%.

Mr Sudarshan has two problems

1) His perception that Hindus are under siege. This is incorrect, or only partially correct as the biggest challenge to Hinduism is from gospel spewing Secularists/Communists, who ironically are Hindus (or born Hindus)

2) His assessment that community bearing more children will have a better survival.
This might be true for animal kingdom (and even there it is not univeral truth, Humans are animal after all and their reproduction rate is very low).
However in human civilization survival depeneds largely on skills and unity. Skill comes from education and knowledge.Unity comes from a shared awareness (which itself is dependent on awareness) and a common sense of purpose for future.

If Hindus have to survive (and survival is not enough, progress is what matters),
they have to gain knowledge.

It is ironic (and sad) that an organization which professes to promote Indian heritage missed this.

This is the reason western civilization despite low fertility rate is still predominant.

This is also the reason that Islam is a sad caricature of its heritage, and reduced to fighting for past grievances (real or imagined).
