Volcker effect

Manmohan Singh strips Nutwar Singh of his portfolio.

Nitin considers this a welcome move.
However I am sceptical about this, considering, the way Congress tried to dodge this issue initially.
What is more Mr. Natwar Singh is still a minister,albeit without portfolio and while he can no longer do any further harm in policy matters, as a part of cabinet he still can influence decision making process.
Further, though GOI has appointed diplomat Virendra Dayal to collect evidence from Volcker comittee,considering the history of UPA government, it seems more like a time buying tactics than genuine concern for integrity and responsibility for polity.
Moreover Volcker also named Congress as the beneficiary of the "oil for food scam", which is much more serious than involvement of Natwar Singh, however this aspect is getting overlooked (deliberately ?).
GOI and it's moral overseer are hoping that this issue will be forgotten and quiently with passage of time.
With opposition in disarray,this seems to be most likely outcome.Iwth
