Exposition Of My Metaphysics (AI Assisted)

Ekaśūnya-Visphāra-Stotram

The One

Transliteration

Nāsīt dvitīyaṃ na ca kiñcid anyat, ekaṃ paraṃ brahma babhūva kevalam. Na vyoma na dyaur na diśo na kālaḥ, svayaṃprakāśaṃ tad abhūd anantam.

Meaning

There was no second, nor anything else. The One, supreme Brahman, alone existed. There was no sky, no heaven, no direction, no time. It was infinite, self-luminous.

Primordial aloneness

Transliteration

Ekāki tiṣṭhan paramaḥ sanātanaḥ, nānyaṃ dadarśa svayam eva kevalaḥ. Kasy eha sākṣī bhavatu svayaṃprabhuḥ? Kaṃ vā nirīkṣeta paripūrṇacetanaḥ?

Meaning

The eternal Supreme stood alone. It beheld no other; it alone was. Of what could the self-luminous Lord be the witness? Whom could infinite consciousness behold?

Self-observation

Transliteration

Svaṃ draṣṭum icchan svayam eva devaḥ, svasmin svadṛṣṭiṃ viniveśya tasthau. Draṣṭā ca dṛśyaṃ ca babhūva tatra, ekasya madhye dvayam ābabhūva.

Meaning

Desiring to behold itself, the Divine turned its gaze inward. The seer and the seen appeared there. Within the One, two seemed to arise.

The arising of Zero

Transliteration

Pūrṇasya madhye śūnyam udbabhūva, nāpūrayat tan na ca pūrṇam ūnam. Ekasya chāyām iva śūnyam āsīt, abhinnam apy ābhimukhaṃ babhūva.

Meaning

Within the Full, Zero arose. It neither filled the Full nor made it deficient. Zero was like the shadow of the One. Though never separate, it appeared to face the One.

The paradox

Transliteration

Eko'pi draṣṭā dvayam atra jātam, advaitatattve dvayam ābabhūva. Bhedo'bhavad bhedavihīnamadhye, ko'yaṃ virodhaḥ paramasya garbhe?

Meaning

Though the seer was One, two appeared. Within non-dual reality, duality seemed to arise. Difference emerged within that which admits no ultimate division. What paradox lay within the womb of the Supreme?

The explosive manifestation

Transliteration

Virodhagarbhād visphāra udait, dīptiḥ sahasrair iva khaṇḍarūpaiḥ. Na brahma bhagnaṃ na ca tasya hāniḥ, ekasya rūpāṇi bahūny abhūvan.

Meaning

From the womb of paradox, an explosion arose. Radiance appeared in thousands upon thousands of fragment-like forms. Brahman was not broken; it suffered no loss. The forms of the One became many.

The innumerable centres of experience

Transliteration

Ekasya tejo'ṇuṣu vyarājat, jīveṣu nānābhimukhaṃ vibhāti. Sva-svaṃ jagat paśyati sīmitātmā, ekasya madhye bahudhā caranti.

Meaning

The light of the One shone through innumerable particles. Within the Jīvas, it appeared in different perspectives. Each limited self beheld its own world. Within the One, they moved as though many.

The veiling of recognition

Transliteration

Yo bhedam eva svam iti prapannaḥ, sa sīmitātmā virahaṃ bibharti. Avidyayā chāditacetanaḥ san, tṛṣṇāvaśo dhāvati pūrṇakāmaḥ.

Meaning

Whoever takes difference alone to be the Self bears separation. Consciousness veiled by ignorance runs under the sway of craving, seeking fulfilment as though it were incomplete.

Recognition of the One

Transliteration

Yo'ntaḥprakāśaṃ svam avekṣate'tra, sa jñātum arhaty akhilasya mūlam. Na gacchati brahma na cānyad āpnoti, svaṃ brahmabhāvaṃ punar eva vetti.

Meaning

Whoever beholds the inner light may know the root of all. That one does not travel to Brahman, nor obtain something alien. One recognizes again one's own nature as Brahman.

The unbroken Whole

Transliteration

Na bhagnam āsīt paramaṃ kadācit, naikyaṃ luptaṃ na ca pūrṇahāniḥ. Visphāralīlā bahurūpabhāsā, ekaṃ paraṃ brahma sadaiva pūrṇam.

Meaning

The Supreme was never broken. Unity was never lost; the Full never diminished. The play of explosive manifestation shines forth in many forms. The One, supreme Brahman, is eternally whole.

The concluding vision

Ekaṃ brahma bahudhā bhāti, bahudhā bhāti caikakam.

The One Brahman shines as many; the many shine as the One.

Naikyasyotpattir asty atra na nāśo na punaḥ sthitiḥ.

Here, unity is neither newly created nor destroyed, nor restored after actual loss.

Svadarśanena visphāraḥ, visphāre bahurūpatā.

Through self-observation comes the bursting forth; through the bursting forth, multiplicity.

Ātmajñānena nirvāṇaṃ pūrṇe pūrṇasya darśanam.

Through self-knowledge comes liberation: the Full recognizing the Full.
